The Cumberland County Association of Principals and Assistant Principals (CCAPAP) is proud to be able to present scholarships to qualifying Cumberland County Schools (CCS) high school seniors to help them defray the cost of higher education.  Complete applications must be received at Stoney Point Elementary by 4:00 p.m. April 19th. The application is attached.

To be considered eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • be a 2017-2018 Cumberland County Schools’ high school senior.
  • maintain a minimum weighted 2.5 GPA.
  • complete the essay portion of the scholarship as directed.
  • include an official transcript with the application.
  • include a current report card with the application.
  • turn the completed packet in by the scholarship deadline, April 19th.

Scholarships will be awarded to one recipient from each comprehensive high school and one, collectively, from all non-comprehensive high schools in Cumberland County.  The amount of each scholarship will be determined by the amount of funds generated at CACPAP’s annual fundraiser.  CCAPAP’s goal is to raise sufficient funds to award recipients a $1,000.00 scholarship.  Scholarship recipients will be notified in June and all applicants will be notified regarding the outcome of the scholarship process.

2018 Biomedical Science Summer Camp

for

rising high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors

The Fayetteville State University 2018 Biomedical Science Summer Camp (BSSC) will be held Sunday, June 17 through Friday, June 22.   The aim of the residential, one-week summer camp is to enhance students’ critical thinking skills in math, biomedical sciences, and technology.  Campers will be involved in intensive hands-on,  enrichment and team building activities.  Additionally, the camp will take a day-long field trip to learn more about the applications of Biomedical Science.  Finally, students take a comprehensive examination over materials covered throughout the week at the end of the camp. The culmination of the camp is the Closing Ceremony, where campers will make presentations on what they learned during the week. Family and Friends are invited.  The cost of the camp per student is $350,  which includes the $50 application/ processing fee.  The Application/Processing fee is waived for all payments made in full by May 1, 2018.  Housing and meals are provided to camp participants.

Dear Parents,

We are getting close to the final months of the school year. We ordered a limited number of Yearbooks and we have a few left in stock.

For only $40 your child will have a book that will be enjoyed now and 20, 30 or even 50 years from now. You also can make the yearbook extra special by purchasing name stamping and a protective plastic cover.

Buy online with credit, card, debit card or PayPal at yearbookforever.com (type in Cumberland International Early College ) or at school. Order now, so your kid won’t miss out when the yearbook is distributed around in May.

As an adult, you know how important high school memories become. don’t let your child’s memories fade; make sure they get a yearbook!

Sincerely,

Penelope Vos
Yearbook Adviser
