Professional school counselors are certified/licensed educators with a minimum of a Master’s degree in school counseling. They address students’ cognitive, socio-emotional, and career development needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. They also provide consultation, individual and group counseling, academic advisement, prevention, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution.

School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals with a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in social work. They link home, school, and community, providing services such as monitoring school attendance, promoting dropout prevention, consultation, information and referral, identification of at-risk students, and counseling. They also offer prevention, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution.

The College Liaison fosters positive relationships between FSU Students and Staff with Cumberland International Early College and Cross Creek Early College Students and Staff. They identify collaboration opportunities with Fayetteville State University programs, develop four-year plans combining secondary and post-secondary coursework, and support transitions into post-secondary coursework. They also advise first-year university students on proposed majors, orientation, and Transfer Student Programs and provide instruction in one section of the University Seminar class.

School nursing advances students' well-being, academic success, and life-long health. School nurses provide health services such as immunizations, communicable disease control, vision and hearing screening, health assessments, referrals, and health counseling. They collaborate with school personnel, students, and parents to create health plans and administer medication.

The EC Case Teacher addresses concerns for students eligible for special education services, verifies service implementation, and communicates with the student’s team to meet their needs. They also coordinate Child Find to identify children and youth suspected of or diagnosed with disabilities who might need special assistance.

The military family and youth liaison acts as a communication link between the installation and the school district to ease the transition for military students. They assess needs, build awareness of resources, and connect those with needs to supportive solutions.

Child and youth behavioral military and family life counselors are Master’s or doctorate-level licensed counselors specializing in child and youth behavioral issues. They provide short-term, non-medical counseling support at no cost to children, youth, parents, family members, and staff. Services are private and confidential with exceptions for child abuse, domestic abuse, or any other duty-to-warn situations. Issues addressed include school adjustment, deployment and separation, reunion adjustment, sibling and parent-child communication, behavioral concerns, and fear, grief, and loss.
